I think my standard start to each blog post should be "Sorry it has been so long since my last post..." lol. It seems like I always start that way!
Well a lot has happened in our lives since my last update.
The biggest thing that has happened is David has now gone on short term disability. Basically he has a hard time sleeping due to his machine that he is on at night and he felt horrible most of the time. He was getting like 45 min. to an hour of sleep each night and then having to get up and go to work all day. Let's just say it wasn't working out very well. So we decided that it would be better for his health and everyone involved to go ahead and go on short term disability. The nice thing is that because David has worked at Children's for so long he has short and long term disability built up so that his what he is using for now. As long as he goes back to work within 3 years his job is there for him with all of his seniority! Our prayer is that he will have his transplant well within the next 3 years and life can go back to "normal".
The perk is that I have really enjoyed having David home with me during the summer! We have gotten some house projects done and look forward to getting a few more done!!
We did have another potential kidney match about a month ago. They found a kidney in California that matched David, however, the chain broke down at another point in the chain with someone else so they are working to repair that chain before they match that kidney with someone else. We have not gotten an update about anything yet so not really sure what to think.
I guess although it seems like a lot has changed in our lives that is about it! I guess the things that have changed have been huge but we are so thankful for our friends and family that have supported us through it all!
This weekend is the Dash for Donation...I think it is our fourth year! We have a team of 12 this year! It is pretty exciting! I will try to post pictures!
Thank you for your continued prayers!! We love you all!!!
